Windmill Museum in Greetsiel, Ostfriesland

Moin! Greetings from Ostfriesland!
Two weeks holiday is over, now my life is back again to normal. Washing clothes and dishes, cleaning and etc. We had a chance to see some parts of Ostfriesland, North West of Germany. It was always raining and stormy, windy and cold but still we enjoyed the trip in Ostfriesland. Ostfriesland is about 250 kilometers away from here, Wolfenbüttel.
Ostfriesland is composed of small fishing and farming villages and some not so big towns around. It's more on the coast part of Northern Germany, ( Nordsee).
Greetsiel - we came from Neuharlingersiel to Greetsiel, a small village on the coast. It was really raining so hard when we arrived. We heard that there are two museums there, windmill museums and they have traditional tea cafe and good cakes. It was true what they say, whew! i ate the whole piece of this "apfelstrudel" with ice cream and Michael had "Käsekuchen".
Then we look around the village and of course took pictures, i like the old harbor of Greetsiel.

rhyme for sons
watching my sons at play at the farm inspired me to grab a pen
and rhyme

I want to tell you everyday
As the Lord taught us
To love your brother as yourself
Life is a series of hills and valleys
Of joy and cheers
as well as aches and tears
But sons remember
That up there in the sky is one sun
And a God who watches over us
So go and enjoy the years
Have fun playing as one
But remember to pray everyday
for life on earth may cease today
No one knows the time
So sons be good
A bread do share
to hate don't dare
For life is good
For those who would
Follow the path of sweet brotherhood
Be humble
Be meek
Be of service to those in need
My sons i have not
A penny to leave
But lots of LOVE for you to share and not just keep!

Monochrome Weekly Theme
We live a stone throw away from the quay. Today, like most days except summer, it is cloudy and cold. The sun seems to play hide and seek - mostly hide - behind the gray clouds. That didn't stopped me and Ysabelle from enjoying our day out and breathing in the distinct scent of ocean breeze.

Anything H @ Fun Friday
It's time for Fun Friday in our group, Blogging For Fun. We are doing an A to Z challenge. This week, we are working on the letter H. Some of the Salitype Gals have decided to share some H items.
Surrounded by lush rhododendrons, West Virginia's state flower, MJ poses in her favorite "sunshine hat" during a recent spring hike at Grandview State Park. "Rog and I were out hiking one day," MJ says. "He turned to me and said, 'Your hat reminds me of sunshine. It's so cheerful!' " From that day on, they called it the "sunshine hat." "Anytime I feel blue, I put my sunshine hat on and look in the mirror," MJ says. "Seeing the happy flower designs somehow lifts my spirits. It's like magic!"
H is for Hot Heels! When MJ suggested we post something fun for H, I knew right away what I have in my collection of photos I can share with you guys. I am short and married to my husband who is 6'4" tall. Guess what??? ... these shoes can do the trick - it can make me 4 inches taller !
H for HELP...help me convince my seven year old son to get down the HIGH tree because HE is driving me HYSTERICAL...Gosh he loves climbing that guava tree every afternoon... *Zen*

On line shopping
Every year before Thanksgiving, my husband and I would sit together to plan our shopping list for family and friends. It is a stressful tradition we enjoy. Like most families we are very busy and free time is scarse. It is very difficult to shop around for the best gifts for our loved ones.
Many years ago we extended out 'stressful' tradition of planning our seasonal gift purchases by easing this stress with online shopping. One of the easiest websites we love to shop for online gifts is shopwiki.com. They have this really cool feature called "shopwiki gift" guides. This allows you to save time by shopping either by recipient or occasion. Sometimes deciding on the best gifts for in-laws and teenagers is our biggest challenge. These category options provide us with new gift ideas too.
For Christmas, Jeff is eyeing a new laptop, I want a watch that is waterproof but that has a dressy look. Our four children — what children’s imagination mixed with internet commercials and TV ads can do to a family budget. Many of their requests and our impossible to shop for relatives would be so hard to find without shopwiki.com. However, each year I listen to our relatives say, “you must have shopped forever trying to find this item.”

Another nice thing about using online shopping is it gives my husband and I extra time together as a family. Since we have been using online shopping we cook more during the holiday season and spend more time around the fireplace and decorations as a family. I am very excited to start shopping this year.

Coralblow (Russelia equisetiformis)

The Russelia is among the most common of garden plants, and is easily recognized by its brilliant red flowers that are shaped like tall thin vases. It is also known as the Firecracker plant or Coralblow. Russelia grows in many parts of the world, and is mildly drought resistant.
Russelia equisetiformis and Russelia sarmentosa are commonly used to hide unattractive retaining walls or fences because it grows quickly and has dense foliage. Growing to a maximum height of 1.8 metres, it is a shrub which will tolerate full sun to partial shade. As an evergreen it blooms for most of the year.
Due to its attractively coloured flowers, this bush attracts birds and insects (such as bees) that feed on the nectar from its flowers.

Ysabelle asked me if i can take her to school the other day since i will not be going to work until after lunch. I was not keen on it because it was pouring and cold outside but , she used her charm to her advantage once again - remember the cat in Shrek with those doleful eyes - and won me over. Out we went with a brollie in one hand, a lunch box and book bag in the other, and a camera in my pocket....just in case, you'll never know!

Banoffee Pie
Ingredients
banana
condensed milk or caramel condensed milk
whipping cream
digestive biscuits
butter
Boil the tin of condensed milk for at least 3 hours to make a gooey toffee of it ( set aside to cool) or alternatively used a ready made caramel condensed milk.
Make a pastry base of digestive biscuits and butter mixed together. Place it on a baking tin and press to make a solid base. Put in the fridge for 1/2 an hour to settle.
Cut the banana in rings and place on top of the pastry. Add the toffee and spread it on top of the banana layer.
Beat the whipping cream in a bowl until stiff and add on top of the cake. Sprinkled with grated chocolate on top. Put in the fridge for few hours to chill and settle.

Scenic Sunday @ Sentosa

My lil' girl and I found this 'treasure' at Sentosa while waiting for my hubby to knock off from work.
We enjoyed hanging around to enjoy the beautiful scenery and obviously, I had a blast with my photograph session.
The ongoing building construction you can see in the photo above (top right) is my hubby's current project, Resorts World Sentosa. They are rushing it for completion mid of next year.
Hubby arrived when we went up to explore the nipa hut atop the pond and joined us with the fun.
After asking a tourist to take the family photo for us, my lil' girl said she had enough of the scenery and it's time for us to fulfill our promise to take her to the beach.
This is a better view of the most awaited Resorts World Sentosa expected to open next year. I took this shot on our way to the beach. It will be another 'treasure' to explore 'till then.
HAVE A GREAT AND BLESSED SUNDAY EVERYONE!
